i Cryptic Crossword 1369 Dac

Dac on a Tuesday, so I guess we have more themed puzzles coming later in the week? 😉 Slow but steady progress as is often the case with this setter, but I don’t think I was ever really stuck until 10d, which I had to look up.

COD? Not a bad clue to be found, as always, but my nomination goes to 16d, with 14ac a close runner up – ‘Some food seen under the table? (3-4)’.

I never intentionally time myself, but happened to glance at the clock for once: fifteen minutes. Very swift by my standards, so perhaps I’m getting tuned in to Dac’s wavelength at last. My clue of the day was 2d, because I knew the solution straight away but didn’t work out exactly why until the whole puzzle was done and dusted.

    I have never timed myself before but today I was unable to buy a paper till this evening. By that time I’d already sneaked a look here so, prompted by your comment above, Andy I thought I’d go against the clock as well… My result? 15 minutes! However, I did start with JoW’s COD already solved in my head!!

I was Racing, which frankly wasn’t as enjoyable as my normal amble… doubt I’ll do it again!

Jolly good. 🙂 I’m far happier at leisurely pace too … in fact I feel slightly cheated on the rare occasions when the crossword goes very quickly.
