    Thanks for doing the blog! This was a game of 2 halves for me. Did half the clues in 5 minutes, then spent another hour with the rest, cryptic definitions like 12ac and 6d completely flooring me.

  2. There is a (modern) Swan theatre, but I think the reference in 24d is to Shakespeare as the ‘Swan of Avon’, a title bestowed upon him by Ben Jonson.

    I’m with you on the iffiness. ‘Athlete’, my foot!
